Some Christmas gift ideas for family, friends, and yourself, or ‘Treat Yourself!’

And just like that, it is this time of the year again. If you we lucky - and I definitely tried to be so - you might have grabbed some great gifts for everyone else already. Given we have just finished all the sales at the end of November and the beginning of December. I tried to get some nice stuff for myself, but I have totally ‘forgotten’ about everyone else - as of yet.

So below I will put together a list of the gifts I got for myself with some reasons why I did so - as these could be a perfect match for someone else in your life. I will also list some Christmas gift ideas for some other special people in your life.

So let the fun begin!

Christmas Gift #1, the 2025 Daily Diary from Made of Tomorrow.

The present number one that I am super excited about is the @madeoftomorrow 2025 Daily Diary that I ordered from @superettestore - did I spend a lot of time trying to select the best colour? I sure did. Did I go with the timeless ‘Black With Gold Foil’ option. I LOVE notebooks, lists, organisers, and all this jazz - which I definitely need to talk about in another post. This one is definitely going to be a great companion for anyone who is already obsessed with diaries and lists and someone who might actually need that. I do get so much joy putting my ideas and things to do on paper and the crossing of all the tasks that have been completed. So here it is, the 2025 Daily Diary that I ordered from Superette. I ordered it during the Black Friday Sale but currently it is sitting at NZ$65.

Christmas Gift #2, Sheepskin Laptop Case in Dublin Bay from Wilson & Dorset.

Ok… I must confess, it is still on my Wishlist - but it would make a fantastic Christmas gift to either yourself or that person in your life that has that bloody massive laptop! I sure do struggle to find any ‘good-looking’ laptop cases for anything bigger than 13”. This time Superette has let me down…

I was also lucky to see this guy in real life and he is just stunning! Or maybe the person who had it on had that wonderful unique inspiring style? Who knows! All I know is that it would make such a cool and potentially unexpected yet VERY appreciated Christmas present. You can currently grab it for NZ$195 from Wilson & Dorset - another colour (Black Peak) is available as well, as well as a smaller size.

let’s move to…

Christmas Gift #3, VIOLETTE_FR by Bisou Balm.

As they say… “In France, after red lipstick, our favorite lip look is called “bouche mordue” (just bitten lips), and it’s achieved with lip balm and a touch of lipstick for a subtle flush of color that looks fresh and natural. It leaves behind *just* the right amount of pigment and comes in the most delicious colors inspired by the traditional French candies of my childhood.”

Well I think this lipstick looks just gorgeous and I will definitely be getting it for myself (yay to a $50 Mecca’s gift voucher!). It could also be a great present for a friend or any relative you know needs a bit of this French touch on her lips… Merci!

I will just do the classic Auckland thing and get it from Sylvia’s Park Mecca - there are so many colours available, I am sure you can find the shade that is just perfect!

Make it stand out

Christmas Gift #4, Seriously Delicious by Polly Markus.

Well, I got this book as a gift earlier this year, and all I can say now… it is wonderful, and inspiring, and beauitful, and would cater for all tastes and cooking skills. Thank you, Mika!

So I can confidently say it would make a perfect Christmas present to both well-established cooks, and some cooking newbies like myself.

You can find a better deal at some other stores, but I would say… order from Unity to support their business if you can: Here is the link! I also love the images of the food and Holly’s table arrangements - so so good!

Christmas Gift #5, Kodak GC/UltraMax 400 Color Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 24 Exposures, 3-Pack)

If you are LUCKY to have a film photographer in your life, a friend or a family member who is about to start film photography, or if it is you yourself who’s been emerged in the magic of film, please treat these special one with a roll (or three!) of film. Just drop some questions in advance to check what sort of film they are using - it would make such an awesome and appreciated present. Besides, you will get a massive bonus or more photos being taken during holidays!

Film does carry that special place in my heart, so I am confident - you can’t go wrong with this one!

Currently sitting at NZ$65 from Photogear - I just love Photogear but you can get it from elsewhere else, film has made a strong come-back!
